To read the complaint click here. The complaint alleges the School Board of Sarasota County violated Florida Statue 104.31. The complaint alleges the school district used public resources to send out a flyer specifically listing the political action committee CBS. Additionally, the complaint alleges the school district has a link to the CBS website on the School District public website. While it is up to the Florida Elections Commission to determine if this is a violation of Florida’s election laws, it certainly does not look good for the School District. Using public school children to distribute political flyers seems politically incorrect at the least.
